Sammie's spot

After reading my friends blog I have been completely inspired to document my little Sammie's life. I may backtrack at some point to cover year 1, but from here I am covering Sammie from 18 months and on :) She is 33" tall, 27 lbs!

I may not write everyday, but I'll try to do a few days a week :)

Today we originally had plans to go swimming at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center with cousins Ethan, Ry Ry (as Sammie says), Dilly and Tyler, but Ry got sick, so it was cancelled :(

Sammie Makes A Friend:
So instead we went to Little Gym class. Sammie loves to walk on the balancing beam. She just keeps going around and around. "Again!" she says after every turn. I tried to teach her to swing from the bars, but she got frustrated because she couldn't figure out how to lift herself up to swing. Sammie made a new friend at class today - Joey. He kept following Sammie all around and giving her hugs. It was so cute! The great part is that this is a new class, so all of Sammie's old pals aren't there any more :)

Psyche!
I am beginning to potty train Sammie. So let's just say we have a lot of intimate together time now. Sammie loves to play with the TP, but today was a new type of negotiation for me. She took off with the last of the TP and yelled "psyche" to me as she ran down the hall (thanks Daddy for teaching her that!). Luckily I found a toy in the drawer and was able to negotiate her back so I could get a little TP!

Playing With Jake:
This afternoon we met Jake at Happy Hollow Zoo. It was $1 day at the zoo - so it was, shall I say it, a zoo there! They had fun playing on the fire truck and running all around.

Give Las Madres a Little Love:
Sammie and I had dinner at Fresh Choice tonight because they were doing a fundraiser. 15% of all Las Madres sales go back to club! We saw lots of Sammie's friends - Liem, Peyton, Sydney, Brody and Brock were there :)


What Sammie is Learning These Days:
Colors, shapes, counting, body parts, painting, play doh, coloring. Miss Sammie LOVES to read! She pretends to read to herself, she picks up something paper/book and looks at it and says "Sammie Sammie Sammie Sam" over and over. :)

Struggles
Why does this woman not sleep! It's been weeks now and Peter and I are baffled. We originally knew it was the croup, then pneumonia, then sinus infection, but now she is fine and she still wakes ever 30 minutes screaming/crying for a minute, then back to sleep. It just keeps happening over and over all night until she wakes up at 7am. It's exhausting! The problem is that there are so many things happening at once to this poor little girl - she has 4 teeth coming through, acid reflux, allergies and today she was badly constipated! No wonder she never sleeps huh!
